It is wonderful when we can see Morocco from Almeria / Granada. Melilla is the nearest point at 150km from us (100 miles). The last couple of days have been particularly clear as you can see from the photo.
Why is it so expensive to send packages to Morocco when its only just under the horizon and there are ferries from so many Spanish ports to Morocco proper or to the two Spanish enclaves, Melilla and Ceuta?
The unfortunate answer is that almost all the courier companies fly their packages via their main hub in Northern Europe and then back to Africa. Even Correos counts Morocco as close as Timbuktoo, in other words all Africa is lumped together with no guarantee on delivery time. DHL, however, has a hub in Sevilla which services North Africa and thus cuts out many wasted air miles and makes it the best value to Moroco, Algeria and Tunisia.
Citibox will, of course, arrange for your packages to be sent at less money than if you go direct, so come through us.
